Georgie Shore-style Welsh reality show slammed by locals

The series plucks youngsters from rural hamlets and moves them to Cardiff.

Rhondda MP Chris Bryant said The Valleys, currently being filmed for MTV UK, is “hideously patronising”.

He added: “I can just imagine some bigwig in Canary Wharf coming up with this great idea to make money out of poor people.”

MTV UK insisted that the series would be “irreverent and funny as well as warm, authentic, familiar and genuine”.
