Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, Stephen said: âNow and again people need a change and it was our turn to make way for something else.
âWeâre doing a final hurrah, which may go out on New Yearâs Day, as a way to say goodbye to it. Iâm looking forward to going back to South Africa in August for filming. The team have been like a big family.â
DCI Banks star Stephen is in Cannes to promote new movie Harrigan, in which he plays a Seventies cop cleaning up a crime-ridden sink estate in the North East. He reckons the drama is like an old-fashioned western, saying it is âmore like High Noon than The Sweeneyâ.
DRAGONSâ Den battleaxe Hilary Devey has revealed sheâd like a career in politics. The shoulder pad-wearing telly star admitted she would love to put her hat in the ring over government policy.
But she doesnât believe she would be liked by any of her peers.
She said: âIâd love to be in politics. Itâs probably my next career move. I tell you what, I donât think theyâd like me very much, whichever party I joined.â
