Emotional Tom, 71, was seen breaking down on camera last month when his act Ruth Brown dedicated a performance to her late father.
And the veteran music legend has now confessed he's always at it.
He told Graham Norton: "I cry every week.
"When I saw the American version and saw people crying I thought, 'That can't be real' but it is.
"The worst part is you can't keep them all. There have been some great singers but they can't all win.
"It's hard deciding who stays and who goes."
Tom opened up as he was interviewed on The Graham Norton show last night.
Also on the sofa with the Welsh singer was fellow telly judge Gary Barlow and Men In Black III star Will Smith.
The show airs on BBC1 tomorrow at 10.35pm.
