Dannii Minogue steps out with her X fella

The Aussie beauty, 40, had lunch with Kris Smith and their 22-month-old son Ethan in Melbourne hours after rejecting an offer from the UK X Factor.

Her decision was a blow for Simon Cowell, with whom she had a fling, but a relief for Brit model Kris, 33, who faced having his son 10,000 miles away.

The couple had been together four years.

A source said: “Dannii did consider the X Factor job and Kris knew she was thinking about it, but obviously it would have meant her spending nearly half the year in Britain.

“He dotes on Ethan and was devastated at the idea of being separated from him. Dannii was well aware of the situation, too, and that did have some bearing on her decision to turn down the X Factor.”

Former rugby league player Kris recently claimed the pair were still close, despite their difficult break-up.

Last week, he and Ethan visited Dannii at the Australia’s Got Talent studios, taking her a huge bouquet of flowers and a Mother’s Day gift.
