Simon Cowell accuses The Voice of stealing his ideas and mocks its spinning chairs

SIMON COWELL has blasted The Voice saying it STOLE his ideas.

The music mogul vowed he would make sure the US X Factor â€" now starring Britney Spears â€" beat the American version of The Voice in the ratings.

When asked if he was making big changes to the US X Factor format, Simon said: “I am. I’m not going to say what, because as you know we are going to be competing with The Voice.

“I’ve seen elements of what we were doing on these shows. Producers see something they like and they nick it.”

But the telly king wouldn’t say what The Voice had pinched: “I don’t even want to mention it,” he said. “They know.”

Cowell also mocked The Voice’s spinning chairs gimmick, laughing: “I’m going to suggest that not only do they spin, they eject people through the ceiling!”

The Voice in America â€" which features Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and rapper Cee-Lo â€" has proved a huge hit with viewers.
