The England striker, 31, is hoping to interview his heroes for On The Couch With Peter Crouch, with former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher lined up as one of his first guests.
The 6ft 7in hitmanâs show is set to be broadcast on Sky. A source said: âPeter is a smart guy and takes on the role of a chat show host well. He has a long list of people who he considers heroes, in comedy, music, food, you name it.
âThe idea is he will go and visit people at their homes or workplaces and chat to them in a quirky way.
âItâs more Ruby Wax than Michael Parkinson as itâs supposed to be more of an entertainment show.
âPeter has a good command of the English language and listens well â" vital ingredients for this kind of show and not something many footballers have.â
A pilot show is understood to be being filmed in the next few days and the programme will air later in the year.
The Stoke City forward â" who has a one-year-old daughter with model wife Abbey Clancy, 26 â" is squeezing the show in during the summer football break.

He is the latest footballer to attempt to carve out a career in telly. Ex-Three Lions team-mate Rio Ferdinand had a crack at TV stardom with his World Cup Wind-Ups show before the 2006 tournament.
But he was not as successful as former England striker Gary Lineker â" who reportedly earns £2million a year hosting the BBCâs Match Of The Day.
