Coronation Street star Chris Fountain reveals all about sex scenes with Michelle Keegan

He can’t resist a spot of kiss-and-tell to reveal all to TV Biz readers about the sex-scene secrets of soap siren Michelle Keegan.

Stunning Michelle has been crowned Sexiest Female four years running at the Soap Awards and Chris couldn’t believe his luck when the couple were paired together on screen.

Viewers saw their love-struck characters Tommy Duckworth and Tina McIntyre cuddle, apparently naked, under a sheet.

Chris happily admits he stripped to his boxers for the scene but says Michelle took a different approach.

“Underneath the cover she was wearing tracksuit bottoms, her Ugg boots and a top. She just moved the straps down so her shoulders were naked. It definitely wasn’t as romantic as it looked.

“Obviously Michelle is a gorgeous-looking girl â€" she’s won Sexiest Female for, like, ten years in a row.

“But I’ve got a girlfriend and Michelle’s got a boyfriend and the kiss is not going to be real like that.

“I’ve never kissed anyone on screen like I would kiss my girlfriend.

“On top of that you have the crew standing there and I’m in my boxers. It is a little bit odd but I’ve been acting a long time and I’ve had my fair share of screen kisses, so I really don’t mind.”

Chris’s girlfriend, dancer Jessica Derrick, doesn’t mind her man’s make-believe making out.

He says: “She watched the scene on screen and thought it was good â€" in fact we had a joke about it.”

Although he is based in Manchester and Jessica is in London, Chris believes their long-distance relationship works well.

He says: “We see each other more than I expected and everything is fine.

“I miss her like crazy all the time. Recently I had a long day at work and afterwards I just wanted to get on the couch and cuddle up with her.

“But it does keep things fresh because when we do see each other it’s fantastic and extra special.

“Me and Michelle are kind of in similar places because her boyfriend Max is always away.

“We spend a lot of time together at work but we don’t really see each other socially.

“Jess and Michelle have met a few times and they get on but I’ve not met Max yet.”

On screen, Chris is in the middle of his biggest storyline to date.

Apart from his blossoming relationship with Tina, he is now caught up in a sinister drug-running plot after being betrayed by deadbeat dad Terry.

Chris says: “Tommy has got himself in too deep.

“He followed his dad round like a puppy and fell for Terry’s lies.”

The gripping storyline continues into the summer and Chris says he is relishing every second of it.

He reveals: “At first, when I joined the cast, I thought, ‘Oh, I’m not really doing that much’.

“But looking back it’s been great because they’ve spent that year building Tommy into the Street.

“Now, with big stuff happening to him, viewers care about him because they’ve got to know him a bit. For me it’s really exciting because it’s my opportunity to prove what I can do.

“It’s something I can really get my teeth into and hopefully do the story justice.”

Chris, who was runner up in 2008’s Dancing On Ice, grew up in Bradford in a single-parent household with mum Lynda.

He landed the lead child role in a tour of Les Miserables when he was ten and the following year played the Artful Dodger in a tour of Oliver.

At 13, he had his first TV role alongside Alan Davies in Bob Rose, before going on to appear in Emmerdale, Where The Heart Is and The Royal.

He was offered the role of moody teen Justin Burton in Hollyoaks in 2003, when he was just 15.

Blond and handsome, Chris has attracted his fair share of female attention over the years and was shortlisted for Sexiest Male at this year’s Soap Awards.

But he finds it hard work keeping himself in shape.

He says: “It’s difficult because at work all we have is carbs â€" bread and crumpets â€" and it’s so tempting just to go and get a packet of crisps.

“I worry about my weight and what I look like all the time. Your appearance is part of the job and there’s just as much pressure on the guys as the girls.”

Chris will have to keep going down to the gym if he wants to stand any chance of catching Tina in the soaper sexy stakes.
