Show bosses told the presenter that the entire show is being revamped, so he has to change his look too.
The host said: âThey are changing the look this year and it was suggested I could wear jeans. I said I would love to wear jeans.
âThey then said, âYou looked really brown.â So I have been told to be less Essex, more Chelsea. How that is relevant to the show I donât know but, yeah, I have to look less brown.â
Meanwhile. the former flight attendant says he is still recovering from being mugged at knifepoint in London in March.
Hoodies dragged him off a street into an alley and held a blade to his throat before fleeing with his mobile and £100.
The star â" who won Big Brotherâs second series in 2001 â" said: âEven now I donât go out when it is dark on my own. When it happened I left the lights on and I was crying for my mum. I felt like a bit of a pussy.
âEven now, though, during the daytime when Iâm on the Tube, people look at me and I get freaked out.â
Brian recently signed a deal to keep hosting Big Brother, which moved from Channel 4 to 5 last year, for the next two years.
The latest series kicks off on June 5. It will be followed straight away by a new celebrity version of the show.
Brian said: âIt is brilliant that Big Brother still has such a strong following.â
