Big-voiced Leanne, coached by Sir Tom Jones, edged out Bo Bruce, Tyler James and Vince Kidd in the public vote on the BBC1 talent show.
On hearing the result, stunned Leanne burst into tears and could only stammer to host Holly Willoughby: âOh my God, thank you.â
When asked by Holly whether she now believed in herself, she said: âIâm starting to.â
Proud coach Sir Tom added: âIt gives me confidence there is justice in this world.â
Leanne, 28, came from nowhere to bag the title, despite aristocratic Bo being the bookiesâ favourite. She will now rush out her debut album as early as next month in a bid to cash in on the show.
Her debut single â" a cover of the James Brown classic Itâs A Manâs Manâs Manâs World â" was released at midnight and the three other finalists also want to launch their music careers as soon as possible.
The accelerated release process contrasts with The X Factorâs approach. Previous winners of the ITV1 show have taken as long as a year to release their debut album.
Leanne is set to rake in as much as £1million in the next year, despite viewing figures for the show crashing by half as the series wore on.
Having bagged a £500,000 recording contract with Universal for winning the show, she could scoop up to £100,000 on The Voice tour while promotional deals could be worth thousands more to her.
Vince â" coached by Jessie J â" was the first to be axed on the night, receiving the fewest public votes.
He said: âItâs been a fantastic experience, Iâve learned a lot.
âJessieâs a really good friend now. Iâm ready to go, Iâve got my album done, I just hope I get to release it.â
The final three then performed their favourite songs from the live shows. Bo sang Coldplayâs Charlie Brown, Leanne belted out Whitney Houstonâs Run To You and Tyler went for a soulful rendition of Steve Winwoodâs Higher Love.
But it was Leanne, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, who topped the public vote, aided by a wave of celebrity support on Twitter from the likes of Lord Sugar and Denise Van Outen. Bo and Tyler were joint runners-up.
Despite not winning the show, Bo â" estranged from her dad Lord Cardigan â" will be marketed as âDido 2012â by record company bosses while Amy Winehouseâs pal Tyler has also already recorded tracks for his debut collection.
Coach Danny OâDonoghue said of Bo, who had carried on with The Voice despite her mum Ros battling pancreatic cancer: âBo has had lots of setbacks and knockdowns but she also has a long list of songs ready to go.
âShe could have her first album, lyrically, ready. Itâs then up to producers and me to get the album ready.
âShe is an artist that I can see going straight on to guesting on big rappersâ albums, singing the chorus â" a bit like a Dido for 2012 â" before having her own record. She really is phenomenal. I think she would be stupid not to have an album out in a few months. I will definitely be involved and would love to write her a No1 smash. I would love to duet with her.â
Bo and Dannyâs very close relationship prompted a flurry of speculation on Twitter during the final.
Mrs Trefusis said: âDanny is definitely in love with Bo.â An insider said of the pair: âThere is a lot of chemistry between Bo and Danny, both on stage and backstage.â Danny â" who has a girlfriend â" said after Boâs final performance: âI am lost for words, that was such a brilliant performance. You are a star among stars.â
Danny had earlier remarked: âShe is my inspiration.â
Joint runner-up Tyler is also in a position to act quickly, the Londoner having already worked on songs with his coach, Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am
Will said: âThe problem is people are on these TV shows but then it takes forever for their albums to come out.
âI wanted to do The Voice because I want to speed up the process.
âIâve recorded tracks with Tyler already and we are planning to record more in LA.
âThe world needs Tyler because he is a survivor. There are a lot of kids out there that are going through a lot of tough things and Tyler can be their hero because heâs been there and got out of it.
âHeâs seen dark places and menacing things but has come out the other side.â
AMY Winehouseâs best pal Tyler James says he is upset her parents are selling the £2.7million house where she died.
The Sun revealed last week Amyâs parents Mitch and Janice were putting the three-bed house in Camden, north London, up for sale.
Tyler said: âIf I had the money Iâd buy it.â
BO BRUCE says she considered quitting The Voice to care for her sick mum. She said: âThere have been so many times when I have wanted to quit.
âBut a combination of judge Danny (OâDonoghue) and mum has kept me going.â
