But itâll take a special kind of activity to get her to devote to you for a given time.
Table tennis tickets, for example.
âIâm off to see the semi final at the Olympics,â she says. âBut my boyfriend got the tickets, so Iâve sort of got to stay with him until then.â
And if you havenât got Olympic tickets to offer, simply tempting the comic with a DVD marathon could do the trick, as long as you can see it through to the end.
She adds: âPeople donât talk about it much but youâve really got to think about how much you can commit to that person when you start watching a box set with them. Itâs a big thing.â
One of the more recent big things to happen to the 8 Out of 10 Cats star was a phat fall, during a Worthing Bird championships for CBBC.
The funnywoman dislocated a shoulder and broke an arm.
She turned the ordeal into a one-woman comedy show Hollycopter, which was nominated for the Fosters Edinbrgh Comedy Award last August.
But now sheâs ready to âput the show to bedâ as they say.
She says: âIt was really good therapy, but I feel different about the accident now, so I donât really want to keep talking about it.
âMy armâs alright, but a bit bent. Iâve got a pretty cool scar.
And â" in a weird way â" Holly is grateful for the mishap.
âAt least I could write an Edinburgh show about it. If Iâd just fallen off my bike I couldnât have done an hour on that.
âIâm going to have to take up roller skating or something so I can have another accident.â
âI wrote it with Sharon Horgan, who co-wrote Pulling,â says Holly.
âItâs about a woman falsely imprisoned for killing her boss. But she has to prove her innocence â" itâ a bit of a tragi-comedy.
âSharon is the lead, weâve got Jennifer saunders, Miranda Richardson, Carl Barat from the Libertines.
âCaroline Quentin, John Sessions and loads of other brilliant people. We spent a long time casting.
âItâs really great having big names but theyâre there because theyâre brilliant at their job, more than anything.â
But while having your own sitcom made is many a comedianâs dream, there are some responsibilities that you cannot prepare for.
Like the colour of the dish cloths, for example.
Holly says: âYouâll get a phone call, like âwhat pattern should be on the tea towel?â and youâre thinking âIâve no idea!â but itâs amazing what detail they need to go into to make a joke work on screen.
âThen Iâm like âI donât know what type of penguin was in the zoo, isnât there a standard penguin?â
âApparently there are many different types.â
