Gay travellers Ana annd Linda prepare to marry in US version of Big Fat Gysy Weddings

Fans of the show will be treated to a jaw-dropping episode starring lesbians Ana, 25, and Linda, 48 â€" who exchange vows in a small town in Ohio.

In the show Ana admits: “In our culture, that doesn’t even happen. It would be like a black guy in the Ku Klux Klan.”

And Ana is left wondering whether her disapproving relatives, including her mum, will show up on her big day.

Speaking about her partner of five years, a mum-of-two who was previously married, Ana says: “Linda is amazing, everything I have always wanted.

“I want people to take us seriously. I think people think our relationship is a big joke, but it’s not.”

The bride added: “For the majority, I’m not a true Romany because of who I love.” While Ana worries about what to wear at the ceremony â€" she hasn’t put on a dress since she was 12 â€" relatives start to drop out of the special nuptials at the last minute.

She says: “My mother doesn’t know if she is coming and normally that means she is not. It really hurts a lot. She makes me feel like she is really ashamed of me.”

Meanwhile, first cousins Annie and Josh exchange rings in a typically over-the-top “winter wonderland wedding” in Virginia.

While it would be an incestuous marriage in some states, the family have no concerns. Annie’s cousin Chrissy explains to the cameras: “Our family believes in incest. Maybe that’s why we are all a little bit off, because the blood is too close.”

Like most of her friends, 26-year-old Annie hires dressmaker Sondra Celli to create an electrifying white outfit encrusted with 80,000 rhinestones and trimmed with 20 fox skins.

Her bridesmaids are covered from head-to-toe in sequins.

While the guests’ eyes are firmly planted on the bride as she walks down the candlelit aisle, Sondra is armed with a fire extinguisher.

That is because the dress is illuminated â€" there is 150ft of wiring and more than 100 lightbulbs.

Sondra â€" who vowed to quit if Annie didn’t like her fabulous frock â€" was forced to hire an electrician while she was making the dress to prevent a possible fire hazard.

But it seems everything is going smoothly â€" until the vicar forgets the groom’s name.
