GAVIN Stacey star Joanna Page admits she is animated over her role â€" as a cartoon cat in a new kids’ TV show.
The Welsh actress will be the voice of Poppy Cat in a pre-school series based on books by writer Lara Jones.
Joanna said: “Playing the role is such an honour and I’m over the moon.
“Everybody loves Poppy Cat â€" the books have been such a success. I always imagined I’d be good at animating animals.
“It’s really nice. You can just get out of bed, not put on any make-up and get into the recording booth.â€
Joanna, who recently starred in The Syndicate on BBC1, added: “I’ve a god-daughter who is one and a half, so hopefully she’ll watch it.
“It will be strange when she hears my voice coming out of the telly, though.â€
The series launches on ITV this weekend.
