Tourists flock to Marbs after TOWIE special

Tour operator Lowcostholidays.com has revealed there was a whopping 1,942 per cent increase in searches for trips to the holiday hotspot while The Only Way Is Marbs aired for an hour on June 13.

And since then, bookings have been up by an incredible 166 per cent week on week.

Giles Brown, editor of Marbella’s Hot magazine, said: “Like it or loathe it, TOWIE has led to a massive increase in stag and hen dos in Marbella.

“Although the funny thing is, you often see tourists dressed up to the nines tottering around the fishing port, looking bewildered after mistaking it for the glamour of Puerto Banus.”

The cast of hit ITV2 show The Only Way Is Essex headed to their favourite holiday destination last month to film a one-off episode.

It showed the glamorous stars going wild at a champagne spray party, relaxing in luxurious villas and cruising on yachts.
