Viewers blast Channel 4 after calves were shot on Jimmy And The Giant Supermarket

More than 50 people complained about the gruesome scenes in TV farmer Jimmy Doherty’s programme Jimmy And The Giant Supermarket, shown on Tuesday.

The footage showed how thousands of bull calves are shot because, unable to produce milk, they’re the “wrong sex” and there is little demand for their meat, rosé veal.

Jimmy is campaigning for more consumers to eat veal to help end the practice.
