The actress, 46, married education activist Christine Marinoni, 45, in New York yesterday.
The couple, who announced their engagement three years ago at a Big Apple protest supporting same-sex marriage, have been together since 2004.
Cynthia's spokesperson said: "On May 27, 2012, Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, were legally married in the state of New York."
Christine gave birth to their son Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni in 2011.
Cynthia has two kids from her previous marriage to Danny Mozes.
The star played Miranda Hobbes in hit TV series SATC alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall.
